Classic Rice Pilaf
This traditional rice dish dresses up any dinner.

Ingredients
- ⅓ cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 cup white rice
- 1 sprig thyme, optional
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cups chicken broth
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Saute onion in butter until soft. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute. Add rice and saute an additional minute.
- Add broth, thyme, bay leaf and salt, then bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for 20 minutes. Cool immediately on sheet pans.
