Fourth of July Favorites

American flag in berries

Fourth of July falls on a Thursday this year, which makes it confusing about when to celebrate. As I mentioned last year, this is one of my favorite holidays, so I vote we celebrate this weekend, midweek AND next weekend. Who’s with me?

And by celebrate, I mean cookouts, barbecues, potlucks, parties or whatever you want to call them – they all involve tasty food. Here are a few Fourth of July recipe ideas for your celebration, divided into three categories: seasonal recipes, utilizing all the zucchini, green beans and tomatoes exploding in our gardens; cool recipes, since much of the country is experiencing record-breaking heat; and patriotic recipes – the red, white and blue variety.

In-Season Recipes
