We have the Girl Scouts to thank for the popular campfire treat – s’mores– as the first official recipe was published in one of their handbooks in 1927. Today we celebrate this sticky, chocolatey dessert! Who knew that a couple graham crackers, some chocolate and slightly toasted marshmallows could taste so delicious when in sandwich form? In fact, the name s’more came from the treat’s addictive quality – you have no choice but to ask for “some more.” (If you need a lesson on making a s’more, take a look at this.)
Although the traditional form of this gooey sandwich can’t be beat, we’ve rounded up some scrumptious variations for you to try as you honor the s’more on its official holiday:

S’mores Pancakes by Taste and Tell

No Bake Peanut Butter S’mores by How Sweet It Is

What’s your favorite variation of a s’more? I like to add a little banana to mine!
