Spring Greens and Country Ham Tart

This breakfast tart, filled with country ham, spring greens and Gruyere cheese, is perfect for a family brunch or special occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust (to fit a 10-inch tart pan)
  • 6 ounces (about ¾ cup) country ham, chopped
  • 5 ounces (about 2 cups) mixed spring greens
  • 8 ounces (about 1 ½ cups packed) Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 8 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Press the crust evenly into the tart pan. Layer the hamgreens and cheese over the crust.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, nutmeg and green onions. Slowly pour the egg mixture in the tart pan.
  4. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes. Cover the top with foil, and continue baking about 30 minutes longer, or until center is set. Cool slightly and serve.
