Dairy products are Wisconsin’s top agriculture commodity, and the state comes in as the nation’s largest cheese producer. Warm summers help crops grown in the state, and cold winters help the soil replenish itself. Wisconsin leads the U.S. in the number of on-farm bio-energy systems. These systems convert manure into renewable energy, powering more than 7,500 homes.
