Cattle and calves represent the leading ag sector in Colorado. The state ranks No. 10 in the nation for cattle and calf production, with an inventory of 2.65 million head of cattle and calves as of Jan. 1, 2022. Cash receipts from cattle and calves amount to just over 50% of total Colorado agriculture cash receipts.
