Ingredients

  • 2 cups peanuts, unsalted, unshelled or dry-roasted, shelled.
  • 3 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste

Instructions

  1. Place peanuts in a food processor or blender, and mix on regular speed until well combined. Gradually add the oil and continue mixing until smooth and creamy, about 5 minutes. Mix in salt to taste.
  2. Use a spatula to remove the peanut butter from the food processor or blender, and place it in a container with an airtight lid. Store homemade peanut butter in the refrigerator for 3 to 6 months. The oil will rise to the top, so stir before using.

Tips & Notes

Roast peanuts to maximize flavor. Spread an even layer of shelled peanuts on a cookie sheet and roast in a preheated 350-degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add a splash of honey for a sweeter taste.
