5 Can’t-Miss Wyoming Festivals for Foodies
Folks from the Cowboy State don’t mess when it comes to good food. In Wyoming, you’ll find can’t-miss foodie events spread out from Jackson Hole to Cheyenne. Start exploring the state’s culinary culture with these five Wyoming food festivals serving up all kinds of eats and entertainment.
Jackson Hole Food and Wine Festival
Jackson Hole
The Jackson Hole Food and Wine Festival happens twice a year in March and June. The event hosts chefs from all over the country who prepare dinners and teach culinary classes. The festival encompasses events in private homes, tastings, pairings and fundraisers. Attendees will get the chance to interact closely with chefs for the culinary experience of a lifetime.
The festival in March is considered the winter festival as it’s still cold and snowy on the mountain at that time of year, so pack your ski gear and get ready to eat your way through town. It’s no inexpensive venture, but if you can afford it, there’s likely no prettier backdrop for trying the very best food, wine, beer and spirits that Jackson Hole has to offer.
Laramie Jubilee Days
Laramie
Jubilee Days began 80 years ago to celebrate the anniversary of Wyoming’s statehood on July 10th. Today, this massive, food-focused festival is a weeklong event featuring all the delicious eats you’d expect from the Cowboy State. Check out the chili cook-off, challenge your taste buds at the jalapeño-eating contest, wake up early for the pancake breakfast or enjoy a sip at the Brew Fest. Once you’ve had your fill, you can burn off a few calories at the downtown street dances. The event also features a rodeo, carnival and parade.

River Festival
Green River
River Festival is a classic community festival that celebrates the gorgeous Green River. In combination with an art fair, the River Festival serves up great food and great culture for two days in mid-August in the far southwestern corner of the state. Enjoy a classic car show, a Cajun shrimp boil, a spaghetti dinner, live music, fireworks, canine competitions and a rubber ducky race down the river.

Cheyenne Frontier Days
Cheyenne
You’ll be blown away by the varied and downright unusual food options to be found at Cheyenne Frontier Days. Over the course of 10 days in July, the festival hosts a massive rodeo, including nights filled with music from some of the biggest names in country music.
Cheyenne Frontier Days has been the biggest event in southeastern Wyoming for more than a century. The concessions area is chock-full of all the fair food favorites and also offers more inventive options, such as ostrich bratwurst and camel burgers. There are three pancake breakfasts over the course of the event that are hugely popular. And after the parades on Tuesday, Thursday and both Saturdays, guests can follow the signs into town for one of a number of lunches put on by groups around Cheyenne.
Old West Days
Jackson Hole
Just as the mountains and city begin to thaw, Jackson Hole comes alive for 10 days of fun, food, music and culture during Old West Days in May. Check out the rodeo or parade, head over to the brew fest, or tempt your taste buds at the chili cook-off. Each night of the festival, you can see the longest-running gunfight in the town square. Onlookers enjoy ice cream and sweets while an Old West tradition plays out. Check out a chuckwagon and eat like a mountain man, or sip on local wine and beer as you stroll through town watching local artists at work
