What’s your favorite food? If your taste buds are like those of fellow Americans, pizza pleases your palate the most. But have you ever heard of a pizza farm?

What Is a Pizza Farm?

Feeding into the culture of agritourism, a pizza farm focuses on the farm-fresh ingredients of this beloved dish. A pizza farm may grow, for example, wheat for crusts, tomatoes for sauce, a plethora of vegetables for toppings (like mushrooms, onions, peppers, etc.), and even fruit (for those lovers of pineapple on pizza). Plus, farmers and ranchers produce various meats and assorted cheeses.

America’s best pizza farms highlight the agricultural process of harvesting seasonal ingredients and offer farm-to-table dining. Some farms even welcome doughy devotees to stay overnight on the farm.

This farm’s 1,000 acres are home to crop fields, farm animals, a farm store, culinary programs, educational camps and a farmhouse kitchen. All pizzas are vegetarian (sorry meat lovers) and made with farm-sourced goods. This place clearly has a sense of humor because its onsite shop is called ‘The Inconvenience Store.’
