Nat Geo Wild will give viewers a glimpse of life on a working dairy farm in its new documentary series, “Hatcher Family Dairy,” premiering this summer. The series introduces the Hatcher family of Hatcher Family Dairy in College Grove, Tennessee, a sixth-generation farming and veterinary family. The Hatchers run their nearly 200-year-old dairy operation on hundreds of acres of farmland while managing a veterinary practice serving farmers and animals across Tennessee.

Viewers will meet the family matriarch, Sharon, who keeps the family in line, along with her children, Jennifer and Charles, and her daughter-in-law, Mary Morgan. Jennifer runs the family’s rural veterinary practice and mobile vet service while Charles manages the dairy operation and Mary Morgan runs the storefront, online and digital side of the family business.

The series follows the Hatchers’ day-to-day life, going behind the scenes to reveal the dedication, sacrifice and emotion involved in running a family farm. Each episode offers a new agricultural adventure, with animal and farm emergencies arising at home and across the state. As the Hatchers deal with the daily stress and chaos that come with running a farm and veterinary practice, viewers will get a glimpse of real farm life and the incredible work that goes into ensuring the family farm lives on into the next generation.

  1. I started watching this show and enjoying it until I thought I saw a Confederate flag hanging. I’m not opposed to the family hanging the flag, it’s their right. But for the viewers white and black I don’t think NGWHD should be filming only if this is true.

    1. Love the show! Nice to see wholesome American tv !! I look forward to many more seasons!

      1. My husband and I love this show. It’s interesting to see behind the scenes of a working dairy farm. We hope this show is renewed for many seasons.

    2. LOL, that’s the flag of Tennessee!

      1. Bob, on behalf of Southerners and those with familial links to Tennessee, thanks for clearing up the misidentification of the flag.

    3. The Confederate Flag is part of the South’s culture as well as part of U.S. history. It has been discussed in schools for hundreds of years. My husband and I even fly this flag on our place and our neighbors enjoy the colors and symbolism. Thank you Hatchers!!!! I love you!!!!

    4. Oh good Lord stop complaining it is still a Free Country
So until the democrats destroy our freedoms with their socialist way stop your complaining and let’s be free. You are so wrong in mistreating other people’s feelings and beliefs you can not change history.

      1. Politicizing this show is a sure way to sink it. I’d like to watch it without that. As a Southerner I get the flag controversy, but just let it go and enjoy the show.

Love the Nashville area so hope I can catch more shows soon.

  2. Oh my god, I really love this show! The family is the best and I hope to see it continue for a long long time!

  3. Love the show – what kind of cows are they?

    1. Dorothy, I read somewhere, or heard: Holstein, Brown Swiss, & Jersey cows

  4. I love this show! Not only is it informative and interesting in teaching about farming, but the family is very likeable. Their work ethic and commitment to farming is admirable and reminds us of the realities of how food actually gets to our table. It’s also wonderful to watch a show that is positive about our country, instead of viewing hollywood’s dark, distorted version of it. I hope National Geo Wild gives this show a very long run!

  5. I am really enjoying this series. Learning a bit about Tennessee in the process. I hope it will be available in iTunes for download. I am a big Dr Pol fan so this is another great series about farming and veterinary practice. I really like the family involvement as well.

  6. They need to amp his show up. It’s really boring, all they do is talk about nothing. There are very few vet clinic patients and the dairy? Well let’s just say, they like to hear themselves talk. I change the channel when this show comes on.

    1. Your loss!!!!!!

    2. They are showing people what it’s like to run a dairy farm. I found it interesting because my dad grew up on a dairy farm.

  7. Please accept my comment as constructive criticism. I enjoy watching this new program and I am a true animal lover. I’m watching it as I write this. For the life of me I don’t understand how someone who is obviously intelligent and who goes to to college for several years to perfect their chosen profession cannot correctly pronounce VETERANARIAN! That does not show pride in what you do. It is not pronounced vetINarian. Please please please take the time to enunciate your title correctly. Am I the only one that takes exception to this? I’m sure your college professors are mortified. Thank you for allowing me to vent this frustration

    1. They are from the south with accents. They are not English professors as you seem to expect them to act. Lighten up or don’t watch it!

    2. Veterinarian is the correct spelling. I’m sure they speak and have the accents of the country living people that they are. Why are you watching it if you don’t like it. Change the channel and watch something you like.

  8. Love love the show!!!!

  9. Boring? My wife and I enjoy the show. Family atmosphere.

  10. Great show. It’s different from other veterinarian shows because it is not only about doctoring animals it’s about their dairy and breed cattle and other farm animals. There’s a lot of education going on in this show and they make it interesting. Keep up the good work…..
