Ingredients
- 1 store-bought pie crust
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream, divided
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon flaked salt (such as Maldon)
Instructions
- Bake pie crust according to package instructions. Set aside to cool.
- In a microwavable bowl, combine chocolate and 1 cup of the cream. Microwave the mixture on high, stirring every 30 seconds, until the chocolate melts (about 2 minutes). Whisk until very dark and creamy.
- Using a rubber spatula, scrape the chocolate mixture into the cooled crust and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- In a large bowl, whip the remaining cream until stiff. Whisk in the sugar, cocoa powder and vanilla extract. Once the mixture forms peaks, spoon it into a pastry bag and squeeze dollops around the edge of the pie.
- Sprinkle flaky salt on top and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve slightly chilled.
